• My Approach ▼

  Harm reduction is a compassionate, evidence-based counseling approach that meets you where you are, focusing on reducing any negative consequences of substance use rather than insisting on complete abstinence. It respects you, your individual goals and pace, empowering you to make safer choices that improve your overall well-being while honoring your autonomy. This approach values small steps as meaningful progress and creates a supportive, non-judgmental environment that fosters hope and trust.

  Harm reduction does not negate abstinence but allows for you to make more informed choices about whether you will use in a safer, more functional way or stop completely. Should you want to explore using safely, I will provide education and support that helps you manage substance use and build healthier coping skills. This approach enhances motivation and fosters self-efficacy, helping you take control of your journey at your own pace whether you want to practise abstinence or using safely. I have strong links to in-patient facilities for mental health and addiction we could utilise if that is what you would want.

• How Will Our Sessions Work? ▼
  • Sessions will always be online (unless there are special circumstances)
  • Google Meet is the platform I use and if not available, WhatsApp
  • Our video cameras need to be on and in a private space where you are free to talk openly
  • Session duration: 50-60 minutes
• Session Costs ▼

  R650/session

  (20% of the cost of your session makes way for someone who lives on the street in crisis to have a session)

  • Session cost is not claimable from medical aid. The fee has been reduced to accommodate this.
  • Payment should be made before the session or within 24 hours after the session
  • Proof of payment sent to me with your full name as the reference

  Your privacy is my top priority.

  Everything you share in therapy is confidential and protected by ethical and legal standards. I will only break confidentiality if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, and I will always discuss this with you first. This commitment to confidentiality helps build trust and creates a safe space for your healing.

• Family Support ▼

  I am here for the families and loved ones of those affected by addiction. I understand the challenges families face and the value of learning how to keep you and your family safe without completely breaking contact with the loved one who is using drugs or alcohol.

• ADHD Children ▼

  As someone with ADHD I use my lived experience alongside my training and career experience to support you as you navigate the challenges of raising little people who have ADHD. We will look to understand their brains, their behaviours and explore how to reach the same goals together in a more harmonious, peaceful way.

With over 20 years of experience working across Southern Africa, I provide strategic guidance for organizations implementing compassionate, evidence-based programmes. My work includes managing multi-million rand initiatives for partners like USAID and The Global Fund.

Remote and in-person consultancy services available. I draw on a strong group of hand-picked, experienced consultants, implementers and people with lived experience to provide gold standard services at various stages of your project.

• Public Health Programme Development (HIV, TB, hepatitis B/C, SRH, advocacy and psychosocial) ▼

  My expertise lies in researching and designing evidence-based programmes from initial concept through to implementation, ensuring alignment with international best practices, national guidelines, and local contexts.

  Services include:

  • Preparatory groundwork, road map development and situational analysis of gaps and challenges
  • Engagement and guidance sessions with affected communities
  • Strategic direction based on data analysis - qual/quant.
  • Development of reports, position papers, and policy briefs.
